A Good Ass Kicking
It's a historic era in the evolution of the Flash Platform.
Flex, AIR (formerly Apollo), CS3, Flash Player 9 and PaperVision 3D (to name a few) all take advantage of the single most powerful feature at the hands of Flash developers: ActionScript 3.
If you are still authoring code on the timeline, or prefer to develop your projects in AS2, this is the time to put the effort into learning AS3. Why?
‘Cause it kicks ass.
Grant Skinner, chief architect and CEO of gskinner.com, recently presented at FitC 2007 in Chicago on the topic of AS3, and he’s agreed to share his presentation with us at the Billiard Club on Monday night (July 16th @ 7:00). Check it out:
50 Reasons AS3 Kicks Ass
ActionScript 3 is by far the most significant upgrade to the language in its 10-year history. This session explores 50 reasons that the newest version of AS is so important to Flash and Flex developers. Presented at FitC 2007 Chicago.
As usual, we’ll have 5-buck apps, happy-hour bevies, and swag galore for the giving away. This is a talk you don’t want to miss.
Invite your friends and colleagues; hope to see you there!
