February's Gonna be Sweet!
For February, we are going to try a slight change from our usual format: we've decided to try a new venue that is acclaimed for hosting beer-drinking professionals such as ourselves. The kind folks at The Billiard Club on Whyte Ave (www.thebilliardclub.com) have offered us their entire back bar to hold our monthly gathering. The change allows us to offer a vast array of specialty beverages and a full menu to our community members, while enjoying a casual environment conducive to networking and socializing. We are also being offered five-dollar appetizers and happy-hour drink prices all night long!
As always, we'd like to thank Guru Digital Arts College (www.gurudigitalarts.com) for their hospitality over the years and hope to see Guru staff & students join us on Whyte Avenue.

The creative process, although rewarding, can often be a difficult phase in the development of a project. Stefan Morris from Shu Studios will be addressing some of the common challenges encountered during this process and provide solutions that will allow you to consistently deliver quality work to your clients.
"Generating Flash From Data"
Erik Johnson
Erik will be showing a tool that takes a 2D blueprint-style map and outputs an animated 3D map. Topics will focus on using external data to create flash images and animations and some of the possibilities that this approach uncovers.
