Gathering: Postponed

Just a quick notice to let everyone know that we will not be holding a gathering of EFUG in December, due to the holiday season. Our next gathering will be on Monday, January 17 - more details will follow after the holidays. If you are interested in doing a talk in January, we would love to have you.

In other news, the forums are temporarily down (probably for another week or so) as we switch hosts. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Gathering: November 15th, 2004

Gathering number 13 is just around the corner. It will be held at Guru Digital Arts College on Monday, November 15, 2004 at 7pm. For a map and address, please see http://www.efug.org/ .

Beyond the usual swag, refreshments and Flash Geek goodness, Phil & Ryan of gskinner.com will be doing a session on some of their latest work. In addition to that, we will have an open Mic where you can show off your latest project, ask a question or babble incoherently about how much you're craving 8ball and all it's glorious new features!

What's Cookin at gskinner.com

Join us as we take a peek inside some of the latest work at gskinner.com
including:

1) introNetworks - a Flash based social networking application used at various conferences around the world. gskinner has developed version 3 of this application from the ground up, including a visualization tool that allows conference goers to find other people with similar skills/interests/hobbies, as well as a configuration tool that allows the client to visually configure color schemes, graphics and all text in the application.

2) glic (gskinner lightweight interface components) - an entirely redeveloped set of components for Flash, the gskinner team has maintainted the Macromedia V2 component API, while reducing filesize and processor hit. In addition, we have implemented some cool new features including a powerful focus/keyboard management system which encompasses all glic components. Lastly, we have built a "test suite" around each component which allows a visual way to test each component's API. Come out to see Canada's first public demo.
