EFUG Forum is Live!
We've been promising this for a while, but now it's a reality...our very own forum where you can ask questions, post cool techniques, or just blab with the rest of the Edmonton Flash community. You can register at www.gskinner.com/forum/ and then start posting away. See ya there.

Gathering: October 18th, 2004
The twelfth gathering of the Edmonton Flash User Group will take place Monday, October 18, 2004 at 7pm. As usual, the meeting will be held at Guru Digital Arts College.
Grant will be presenting a session titled "Object Oriented Procrastination", prior to presenting it internationally (it's like a gala premier, without the gala bit). Following that we will be doing an open Mic session where you can ask questions, show off your latest work, or share a new technique.
As always, we will have swag, beer and refreshments (sponsored by gskinner.com) and good company. We hope to see you there.
Object Oriented Procrastination
Object Oriented Programming is commonly associated with application development (boring but profitable), but it can also be used to create less practical (and much more entertaining) pieces. This session examines the inspiration, architecture and code of a number of Grant's recent multimedia experiments. Designers and Flash newcomers will be introduced to the basics of OOP and programmatic motion in ActionScript 2, while more experienced coders will learn architectural best-practices and hopefully be inspired to use their skills for more creative pursuits.
