I’m very excited about the launch of the “NFL.com Fantasy Football 2013” app for Windows 8. Our team designed and built the app, working with the NFL, and with much appreciated support from Microsoft.
We used WinJS, along with a variety of open source JS libraries (including CreateJS, of course), which allowed us to leverage our existing experience with the web standards stack to deliver a highly custom touch-enabled experience in a very short timeline.
Of course, Fantasy Football goes super deep, so there’s a lot more the app could do, but we set out to create a great game-day companion as the initial release, and I think we achieved that. It looks and feels particularly awesome on Win8 tablets like the Surface Pro.
Huge thanks to my team, who pulled some crazy hours to get this ready for the first kickoff of the season, and the NFL FF team, who were incredibly supportive and awesome to work with throughout.
